The Wall of Rock fired up a classic rock anthem after delivering his victory speech at Monday's post election celebration at the Palliser Pavilion.
Premier Brad Wall swept back to power on Monday with 64.2 per cent of the province-wide vote and electing 49 Saskatchewan Party members to the legislature.
Having been a disc jockey as a teenager, with the on-air handle The Wall of Rock, Wall certainly knows a thing or two about music.
After delivering his victory speech, where he boasted: "Today, after years of lagging behind the rest of the provinces in this country, we are leading in so very many respects, and we are not going back," the speaker system started blasting the Boston rock classic Don't Look Back.
The opening line of the rock n roll classic is simply "Don't look back. A new day is breakin'." It was his core message during the campaign, and with the resounding support from voters, it certainly meshed with his exit music.
Wall walked into Monday's celebration to Not So Far Away by Tom Cochrane and Red Rider.
Music was also a theme at Wall's inaugural electoral celebration on Nov. 7, 2007, when Wall walked into his post election victory celebration to a modern version of Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf in a back handed salute to the 2007 campaign messaging of Wall being a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Obviously, Wall is too music savvy to walk into an event blasting Celebration by Kool and the Gang or We Are The Champions by Queen, and thankfully not I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas. There was certainly no bravado by playing something like Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive, although if he ripped into an air guitar solo to that song on election night it would have received a view or two on YouTube.
