A little Boost

[Professional Blog] Lighting up the season the wrong way

With the sun setting just in time for the drive home after work you get a different perspective of the roads in Swift Current.

You catch the glare of the ice from vehicle headlights; you chuckle when you see a broken headlight or two (I was one of those drivers late last month); and suddenly you see an overabundance of fog lights on vehicles driving in the city.

I was waiting to merge onto a Southside street just the other day and observed three consecutive vehicles with their fog lights on.

As the driver of a smaller vehicle, I notice these fog lights more than the larger vehicles that traditionally sport fog lights.

As near as I can tell, it hasn't been very foggy over the past number of days, and these lights do not provide much better driving lighting than regular lights.

I get the benefit of fog lights while on the highway, but nobody needs to have them on while driving to the mall or heading to a Bronco hockey game.

So, give us small vehicle drivers a break and keep those fog lights off while in the city.

However, I'll be glad to follow you on the highway during a blizzard when you can use your fog lights for the right reasons.
