In the policies, there’s no mention of how far is too far away, so how is one to know?
If it is supposed to be at the curb, does this mean perfectly balanced on the four-inch wide piece of concrete bordering the road? Or can it be a foot, two feet, or 10 feet away from this location?
There’s nothing specific in the town’s policies, and if there’s going to be enforcement then there needs to be two things: complete enforcement, not intermittent; and an easy-to-understand, publicly accessible policy explaining exactly where your garbage needs to be placed.
I know, this all seems a little too much for one bag of garbage, and believe me, I know you’re right. However, I just had to say something because after more than two weeks, it is still getting under my skin, but I think I’m now over it, and our friendly neighbourhood garbage collector will not have to walk three or four feet from the curb to get my trash in the future.
