It takes all kinds to make a world. Now this doesn’t mean just people. This also means birds, beasts, insects, fish, plants, and even the weather. Just think how boring it would be if we only saw one kind of bird.
What if we went hunting and the only thing we could see was a muskrat. And if people all look alike, where would the fun be in dating.
What if we all looked like Jerome Kennedy? My God, what a terrible thought. Just stick two horns on our heads, and we would look like a herd of goats. But looking like a herd of goats would be a lot better than if we were all like Danny Williams. He is the kind of guy who talks out of the side of his mouth. He reminds me of one of them criminals I saw in those old movies. Now if we all looked like Danny, there’d be nobody trusting nobody.
But it takes all kinds to make a world. I say thank God it does. What if we were all like Joey Smallwood — there wouldn’t have been an outport left. He would had moved us all in around St. John’s or in Gander. Thank God there were some sane people in the outports. We stayed but we are fading fast.

We are fading because we are all the same. We are all getting old with no young ones to follow in our footsteps.
But in some cases, we only need one kind. Just think how good the earth would be if we all spoke the same language. Now, I’m not going to say, there wouldn’t be any arguments.
Yes, in lots of cases, God knew what he was doing. Take a look at our government. What if there was only one party in there? You can get the answer to that by taking a look at Cuba and some more places.
It is a good thing that it takes all kinds and different events to run the world. If it didn’t, the world would be in one mess. If we were all alike, there would be no laws. Just think what a mess the world would be if we were all like those in our government who committed a crime — they go to jail, are let out on parole, and in a couple of days are free.
I’m telling you. God might have been a little slack when He made the world. But He wasn’t stupid.
