Update: Polls closed in Terra Nova district byelection

Polls have closed in the provincial district of Terra Nova and the votes are being counted to determine which candidate will replace former health minister Paul Oram - who abruptly quit politics last month - and represent the district in the House of Assembly.
The polls closed at 8 p.m. There were 8,282 eligible voters in the district.
Sandy Collins is the Progressive Conservative Party candidate; John Baird is the Liberal Party candidate; and Robin Brentnall is the New Democratic Party candidate.
