Hockey New Brunswick Moncton Office Interiors Ricoh Rockets won the battle of the two undefeated teams to kick-start day three of the 2010 Atlantic Midget Female Hockey Championships with a 4-1 win over Hockey Nova Scotia Metro Boston Pizza.

HNS finished the round robin with a 3-1 record, and despite the loss, solidified its spot in Sunday's gold medal game.

Gabrielle Poirier led all Rockets scorers with three points (one goal and two assists), while HNS alternate captain Alex Normore scored the lone goal for the Nova Scotia squad.

HNB's alternate captain Becky Bowes scored the lone goal of the first period, with assists going to Janik Robichaud and Chelsea MacNeil.

The Rockets padded its lead with a pair of goals in the middle frame, and took a 3-0 lead into the third and final period. Katherine Richard and Josee Leger scored for the Rockets. Poirier assisted on both goals, while Natalie Cormier added a helper on the period's first goal.

Poirier scored her first of the game to open the third, and give HNB a comfortable 4-0 lead. However, Normore broke the shutout before the final buzzer sounded.

Pascal Daigle turned away 14 of 25 shots for the win, while her counterpart Emma Crawley was amazing in the loss, stopping 43 of 47 shots for HNS.
