A 50-year-old Carmanville man was scheduled to appear in Gander Provincial Court Thursday afternoon following an incident involving a NL Power employee and the RCMP earlier in the day.
The man is accused of uttering threats to the power company employee, who had reportedly told the man the power to his home would be cut off.
Later, two RCMP officers appeared at the man's home after receiving a complaint from the NL Power employee, at which time the man allegedly appeared with a knife and threatened to harm himself.
After agreeing to drop his knife, he was taken into police custody, and is reported to have subsequently kicked one of the officers in the chest.
The man is facing charges for uttering threats, breaching court orders, and assaulting an officer.
