Gander RCMP are investigating a pair of armed robbery incidents that occurred at gas stations in the town within a half-hour time span on Sunday night.
Cpl. Mike Reidpath said it appears a male suspect carried out the two robberies in Gander. He was described as being 5'11", and was holding what appeared to be a handgun. Cpl. Reidpath said the age of the suspect could not be determined, as his face was concealed by a mask.
A complaint was received by RCMP in Gander at 10:17 p.m. The suspect is alleged to have fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Just over 30 minutes later, a second complaint was received. The suspect left the scene without receiving any money. He was seen leaving on foot in both cases.
Still images obtained from video surveillance at one of the gas stations showed the suspect appeared to be wearing a black jacket along with the mask and glasses.
The Gander detachment of the RCMP is asking anyone with any information or knowledge about this matter, or the suspect in these photos, to please contact the Gander detachment of the RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at www.rocktips.ca.
