An accident on the Trans Canada Highway west of Gander caused lengthy delays for motorists on Friday
A transport truck and dump truck were off the road following the accident. The Gander Volunteer Fire Department, RCMP, Gander Municipal Enforcement, and employees of H. Wareham and Sons Co. Ltd. were on the scene as 4:30 p.m. Members of the local fire department left the station in Gander at approximately 2:30 p.m.
The trailer for the transport truck remained on the road, reducing the highway to one lane. Traffic stretched back three kilometres heading towards Gander from the sight of the accident.
Conditions on the highway were wet.
The Beacon could not confirm whether or not any injuries were sustained in the accident.
