Four people were taken to the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander Tuesday morning following a three-vehicle accident on the Trans Canada Highway at the Cooper Boulevard exit.
A red SUV, a black car, and a silver car collided at approximately 10:30 a.m. The SUV was making a left turn off Cooper Boulevard when it collided with the black car, which was westbound on the highway, said Const. Justin Lyall from the RCMP’s Gander detachment. The grey car was also caught in the collision.
The four people taken by ambulance were not believed to be suffering from life-threatening injuries, said Const. Lyall. A passenger in the black car required the jaws of life to be removed from the vehicle.
The Gander Volunteer Fire Department, paramedics, RCMP and municipal enforcement officers responded to the accident.
