Reconstruction of Markham Place and a rebuild of a section of Garrett Drive is also scheduled to get started this summer. Coun. Scott said the Town was awaiting final approval to award the tenders from the Department of Municipal Affairs. Both project are receiving funding from the federal government’s stimulus fund.
Coun. Scott said 89 per cent of work on Byrd Avenue has been completed thus far, with unfinished business remaining on the upper end of the street.
Work on Sullivan Avenue has been slowed by drainage issues with the soccer field, but Coun. Scott said work there is 94 per cent complete.
Work on Fraser Road was also finished this summer, as the final portions were completed shortly after the end of the school year. Brock Crescent, another projected carried over from 2009, is 95 per cent finished, according to Coun. Scott.
