Coun. Rob Anstey, chair of the public safety committee, said the current entrance will be moved closer to the Bank of Montreal. The move will also move the entrance closer to Armstrong Boulevard.
“That should take care of the problem,” said Coun. Anstey, who expects work will start after roadwork is completed on Airport Boulevard.
The issue has been an ongoing concern with motorists for some time, as drive-thru traffic has created line-ups overflowing onto Airport Boulevard. This has affected traffic looking to make a left turn into the parking lot, and backed up traffic has also led to some drivers travelling west to manoeuvre around the line-up by moving through the left turn lane for the KFC outlet.

Traffic is known to become especially heavy when people are preparing for work and during office lunch hours.
Coun. Anstey said the option of creating a back entrance to the business was not looked at, as there were land access issues.
“They don’t own the land back there, and that was the reason we couldn’t go back there.”
Coun. Anstey added people may need to make more use of the location on the Trans Canada Highway once work begins on the new entrance for the Airport Boulevard outlet.
