Too foolish to talk about -
Who pays for court work? I know that the one on trial has to pay his/her own lawyer, but, in lot of cases, some get free legal aid. Then there is the prosecutor. Also, there is that person who does all the typing and that judge who acts -no, he or she doesn't act like a God. Our Almighty has common sense. The judge doesn't have the sense off a louse.
Now tell me, who pays them to perform. I can't say work because shooting of your mouth is not work. But that old judge - hmm, sorry about that. They are not old anymore. They have to act that way. And thank God they don't say very much.
But who pays for all this? I know that this Walsh fellow is paying for his own. It could take every cent he got. I'm half expecting to see him down on Water Street, playing the accordion. Afterall, the poor devil has to make a dollar somehow.
The courts are all paid by the taxpayers. And I just thought of something else. The fines collected by the courts - who gets that? And what about the money that is seized during a drug bust - who gets that?
I hope the judges don't get it because they are already under worked and over paid. And know what? All government MPs and MHAs are the same. They are way overpaid.
What amazes me is the rumour I heard. I heard that Danny Williams and his government are debating if they should get another raise. Now by the Lard dying thundering Gees, that takes the cake. How much are they getting paid? Somewhere around $100,000 a year. My God, no wonder they are getting rid of the x-ray machines in some places. They need extra money to fill their own pockets.
All men or women who think that they are worth that much money just because they got a big mouth, should hang their head in shame.
Now is the time for those female leaders of the opposition to show that women know how to handle money. They should tell the ruling party to take that extra money and stick it.
Sorry ladies if my speech got out of hand, but I'm a bay noddy and I have to say what's on my mind.
You know, I was doing some thinking. We, not counting politicians and townies, the people of Newfoundland and Labrador are the best in the world. We also have the best dogs, the Newfoundland dog and the Labrador retriever. We also have the best horse, the Newfoundland Pony. Do you think we should start breeding some politicians? It would be nice for us to have the best politicians in the world.
Another thing that makes my ulcers bleed is I heard MHAs are paid $200 a day for going to a meeting. Now thinking about this is enough to make my ulcer get ulcer.
Why pay them extra if they are getting a good salary. Travel expenses should be paid out off their own pockets. Look at the carpenters, the plasters and the painters. They have to use their own money to get to each working site. And most of them don't make as much as the MHAs.
The way I've got it sized up, the politicians are proof that the love of money is the root of all evil. And here is more proof. A short time ago, there was a company who moved to the Avalon. Their profit for their work was 1.5 billion dollars. Yet, our brain dead government gives them another half a million, just to help them get started.
My God! With that much of a profit, that company can afford to invest their own money into a venture. And that's not all, Dandy Dan and his gang gave another million to other companies who are involved in oil. Now let me remind you, they closed down the x-rays department in Flowers Cove and Lewisporte, to save money.
Paul Oram should hang his head in shame. And so should every other MHA from the outports. We put you in there. You are working for us. You are not working for Dandy Dan.
So, why can't you do what is right.
