Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in response to all the attention that has been given by the media regarding the used playground equipment from Cobb’s Pond in Gander.

Being the chairperson of the Local Service District of Benton, I would like to point out that it was never our intention to cause such a fuss over such a small issue.

The town councilors of Gander have been more than generous to our community in the past and I am sure they will try their best to continue this as best they can in the future.  We cannot let a small issue like this get in the way of a great relationship that both these towns have shared in the past.  As “Disgusted” wrote: “there are much bigger issues to be dealt with in both our communities and we should be focusing on these.”

In closing, I would like to thank the Town of Gander, and its past and current councilors, for all their help and contributions they have given our town in the past, and please continue it in the future.

Yours truly,

Kevin Keats

Chairperson, LSD Benton
