Glovertown cranberry farm released from environmental assessment

GLOVERTOWN, NL - The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment has given the green light to Mega Healthy Cranberry Farm, according to an environmental assessment bulletin issued on Monday.

The company is planning to establish and operate an 81-hectare cranberry farm in the Glovertown area.

One condition was placed on the approval – the provision of project specific integrated pest management plan that has been approved by the fruit crop development officer and provincial apiarist with the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources prior to the start of construction.

Mega Healthy Cranberry Farm is planning to progressively develop its fields with approximately 2.5 hectares in production within the first two years.
