Polls have closed in the provincial district of Terra Nova and the votes are being counted to determine which candidate will replace former health minister Paul Oram — who abruptly quit politics last month — and represent the district in the House of Assembly.
The polls closed at 8 p.m. There were 8,282 eligible voters in the district.
Sandy Collins is the Progressive Conservative Party candidate; John Baird is the Liberal Party candidate; and Robin Brentnall is the New Democratic Party candidate.
