Clarenville native in running for Miss Universe Canada

CLARENVILLE, N.L. – Mackenzie Dove of Clarenville will compete for the title of Miss Universe Canada 2018 later this summer.

The current Miss Newfoundland and Labrador is a pharmacy student at Memorial University in St. John’s.

Dove, a past chair and president of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Youth Parliament, has numerous accolades and achievements to her name.

Among them, in 2016, she won both the Canadian Cancer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Inspirational Achievement in Volunteer Youth Leader Award and the YWCA NL’s Young Woman of Distinction. She was selected Memorial University’s Student Volunteer of the Year for 2018.

Dove was pilot of Clarenville High’s Robotics Team that won the Ranger Class of the International Mate Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Competition in 2014.

Over 50 delegates from across Canada will be in Toronto from August 10-19 vying for the Miss Universe Canada 2018 crown.
