Bemister released under conditions

RELEASED – Patrick Wallace Bemister was led into Gander Provincial Court by sheriffs Friday, where he was released on a $5,000 bail with a variety of conditions attached. Mr. Bemister is facing multiple counts of assault, uttering threats to cause death and failing to comply with a probation order. He is also charged with one count of assault with a weapon.

A Grand Falls-Windsor man facing charges of assault with a weapon, assaults and making threats

following incidents at two Gander bars Sept. 29 was released on a $5,000 bail order in provincial court in Gander Friday.

Patrick Wallace Bemister, 26, who is facing numerous charges including assault with a weapon, three counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats to cause death, and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, was released with a variety of conditions attached.

Mr. Bemister is prohibited from having any association with anyone affiliated, in any manner, with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, wearing the colours, patch or any identifiers of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, or attend any place where the Outlaws Motorcycle Club members are known to associate.

He is also required to report to the RCMP detachment in Grand Falls-Windsor each Monday and Thursday, between 9 a.m.-5 p.m., to sign the register book, and he is to remain within his residence between the hours of 9 p.m.-6 a.m. 

Other conditions include: not concealing any knife; be in possession of or in any dwelling where there is storage of any firearm, crossbow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device, ammunition, prohibited ammunition, or explosive device.

He is also prohibited from contacting or communicating with a number of persons.

The RCMP had issued a Canadian-wide warrant of arrest for Mr. Bemister on Oct. 4, and on Oct. 7 he turned himself into RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Mr. Bemister’s next scheduled court appearance is Nov. 19 in Gander.
