RCMP investigating armed robbery in Glovertown

Two men were arrested in Trinity, near Bonavista Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery at a home in Glovertown.

RCMP in Glovertown received a report Monday around 11 p.m. that two masked men, one with a possible handgun, approached a home in Glovertown and demanded money from a lone young adult in the home.

Police say he complied and gave them about $2,000. There were no injuries.

Glovertown RCMP activated a serious incident response contingency plan, notifying neighboring detachments and sending out vehicles and suspect descriptions to policing agencies.

At 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, the suspect vehicle was stopped in Trinity where the RCMP arrested two men and impounded the vehicle.

The investigation of this incident is ongoing. The suspects have been released pending further investigation. A court appearance date hasn't been set.
