In 2016, Municipal Enforcement brought forward a total of 1,441 citations, compared to 1,275 in 2015. That’s 166 over the previous year.
Broken down, the citations included, 852 for speeding, 184 fire lane parking infractions, 382 traffic complaints, 134 animal infractions, 208 property related complaints and 94 recreational vehicle complaints.
The numbers for Gander’s Fire Department were up as well.
In total, the department responded to 193 calls in 2016, up from 175 the previous year. An increase of 18.
Of the responses, 47 were motor vehicle accidents – 36 last year, 37 working fires, with the remainder was a mix of false alarms and calls of assistances.
