A Botwood man has been charged with a break, enter and theft after thieves cut a hole in the side of the Shoppers Drug Mart in Botwood and stole a large safe.

Last Friday, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to the complaint of break, enter and theft.

The safe was later located in a wooded area within town limits but a quantity of cash was stolen from the safe.

Adam Waterman, 31, from Botwood has been charged with that break, enter and theft, and with a break, enter and theft at the Kent store in Gander.

Police say in total, Waterman has been charged with 16 offences that include possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter instruments, breaches of probation and court orders.

He remains in police custody and will make a court appearance later today (Wednesday).

The investigation continues and police are asking that if anyone has any information to contact Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP or Crimestoppers.
