GANDER, NL- Due to cases of respiratory illness on the Medicine Unit at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, immediate visitor precautions are in place.

To help reduce the spread of respiratory illness, only one visitor at a time is permitted for each patient or resident, and all visitors must be at least 14 years of age.

These visitor precautions do not apply to people visiting palliative care patients, noted a press release from Central Health Sunday.

All visitors to Central Health facilities are reminded to wash their hands after arriving and before leaving the facility.

If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please delay visiting any of our facilities until you’re feeling better.

Updates on visitor precautions will be provided.
