LEWISPORTE, NL-Blustery weather and hazardous driving conditions has left the Lewisporte area without power this afternoon.

A tractor-trailer has blown over just west of the Lewisporte Junction on the TCH damaging a utility pole and taking out power for over 1,000 customers in the region.

A earlier release from the RCMP warned both lanes of the TCH are impassable, but emergency crews have since reopened the highway to traffic.

Power has also been resotred to NL Power customers in the region.

There is no information available on the condition of the driver of the vehicle.
