Five occupants of crashed pickup truck released from hospital


Holyrood RCMP officers are continuing to investigate a vehicle collision that occurred Sunday night, sending five people to hospital.

The driver of an east-bound pickup truck lost control on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Holyrood Access Road overpass. The vehicle rolled down a steep embankment, eventually coming to rest in a river.

The RCMP said in a news release this morning. all five occupants, including a seven-month-old and two-year-old, were taken to hospital for treatment and released.

 The news release also says road conditions were extremely poor at the time with snow and ice buildup on the highway.

Police are advising motorists to take extra care when driving in stormy weather and to reduce their speed.
