In a press release issued this morning, police say just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, RCMP responded to a report of an assault outside a residence on Moore’s Road in Clarenville.
According to RCMP, investigators arrived on the scene in minutes to find a 50 year-old man who had suffered stab wounds as a result of an altercation.
The man was transported to G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital today.
Subsequent investigation by RCMP led to the arrest of a 42 year-old man from Clarenville.
The accused remains in custody on Sunday and will appear in court later today. He is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
