Birthdays  Nellie Critchley of Eastport, now residing at the Lakeside Home in Gander, will be celebrating her 84th birthday on March 5. World Day of Prayer

The World Day of Prayer service will be held at Holy Cross Anglican church in Eastport on March 6 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome, please join us.

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #41 Eastport holds Texas Hold’em every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Come on out and bring your friends.

Annual Poker Run

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #41 Eastport will be holding their Annual Poker Run on Feb. 14. Registration starts at 9 a.m. You must be present to register and there will be no advanced registration. If weather isn’t suitable on Feb. 14, the Poker Run will be held on Feb. 21.

Beaches Library

Winter hours

The Beaches Library winter hours started on Sept. 2.

Tuesday: 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Wednesday: 1-4 p.m.

Thursday: 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Saturday: 1:30-3:30 p.m.  

Book Bag Program

The book bags are filled with new books ready for your pre-schooler to pick up. We are trying something a little different this winter, instead of setting aside a special time for the book bag program, book bags can be picked up during our regular hours. There is a three-week loan period, but you are welcome to exchange them earlier. You may check out other books as well. Come visit and let your preschooler browse the books in the children’s section of our library. We have a great collection.

Scrabble

Scrabble continues every Tuesday 2-4 p.m.  Come join us for a fun game.
