Crushers storm Commandos

NEW?GLASGOW?- Geoff Hum's three goals led the Pictou County Weeks Junior 'A' Crushers to a strong 7-1 victory over the Dieppe Commandos Saturday at John?Brother MacDonald Stadium.
Hum opened the scoring with a powerplay goal at 5:12 of the first period to give the Crushers?an?early 1-0 lead. Dan Joyce and Tyler Noseworthy?assisted.
Noseworthy extended the lead about midway through the first.
In the second period, Hum scored?at 9:39 and 13:36 - the first goal was assisted by Sean?Hoyt and Michael Hynes and the second was unassisted. Ryan MacDonald got the Commandos on the board at 16:53 of the second, assisted by Adam Cann?and Matt Tomah.
Robbie Little scored an unassisted goal, his first of the evening, with 2:39 left in the period.
Early in the third, Ryan?Fortune made it 6-1 on a goal assisted by Scott MacDonald and Adam?Chipman and Little got his second of the game, assisted by Derek Smith at 11:19 of the third.
Pictou County?was 1-3 on the powerplay, while Dieppe was?0-4.?Nicholas Spears stopped 21 of?22 shots for the win, while Mario Babineau stopped 32 of 39 shots.
The Crushers?(25-18-0-1) welcome the Commandos back?to New Glasgow on Thursday.

    Great playing by the entire team. The Crushers looked much more at ease and functioned with purpose. Bearcats look out....guys keep it up!
