Before Samsung launched these smartphones, we learned that the company will roll out the new Galaxy AI features of these devices by rolling out a UI 6.1.1 update to older Galaxy phones and tablets. Now we have confirmation of it directly from the brand, along with a timeline for its release.

A UI 6.1.1 will arrive for older Galaxy phones by December 2024

During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Annika Bison, Samsung’s Omnichannel Strategy Director of the MX Division for UK and Ireland said: “We also plan to roll out the new Galaxy AI features we announced today to select Galaxy devices by the end of the year.” In other words, a UI 6.1.1 will arrive to eligible devices by December 2024.

Also, Samsung website Some of the Galaxy AI features of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are said to be available in the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones. While that’s not the case, we think the company is trying to say that those phones are eligible for the new Galaxy AI features and that they’re coming soon.

Considering that the Galaxy S24 series smartphones have the same chipset as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the latest foldable One UI 6.1.1 features all the new Galaxy AI features. The phones should come with Galaxy S24 series devices. Older devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy S23 series can get select features.
