Powerball: Someone Can Start the New Year a Millionaire as the Jackpot Soars to $810 Million

The Powerball jackpot has jumped in the new year, rising to an estimated $810 million after the final 2023 drawing didn't produce any big prize winners Saturday night.

Monday's winning numbers are 12, 21, 42, 44, 49 and Powerball 1.

Monday night's grand prize, if won, says the lucky player could start the new year with a total payout of $408.9 million. Powerball.

Although no one hit the jackpot on Saturday, several tickets matched the top five numbers to win big prizes.

Tickets in Colorado, New York, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee won $1 million each. Another two tickets sold in Texas and West Virginia that included the Power Play feature won $2 million in prizes, according to the Powerball website.

The last jackpot was won on October 11, when a ticket from California won $1.76 billion. According to the California Lottery, the ticket was sold at Midway Market & Liquor in Frazier Park, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.

So far, no one has come forward to claim their prize, and they have a year from October 11 to do so. If no one comes forward, the money will go to California public schools, state lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Becker said.

The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
