At 8:55 a.m. Sunday, authorities received a 911 call about a snowgate, a snow removal device, and a pedestrian involved in a crash on Mount Rose Highway, Washoe County Sheriff Darrin Balam said at a news conference Tuesday.
While there was no snow at the time of the crash, Blame said Mount Rose Highway was closed due to “severe winter weather” and there was still snow that had not been cleared. There were about 13 to 20 abandoned cars on the highway, which were difficult to maneuver.
The first sheriff’s department unit arrived at 9:30 a.m. PT, where emergency medical services rendered aid to Renner, Blame said.
